Melbourne School District students in kindergarten through the sixth grade began the 2016/2017 school year in a new 68,300 square feet elementary school, and on Friday, September 16th, the new school building was formally dedicated. The new school facility, designed by Modus Studio of Fayetteville, Arkansas, creates a modern learning environment for students and efficient work areas for teachers and staff. Included in the new Melbourne Elementary School is a media center with a separate reading room, fine arts and music spaces, and a 5,200 square feet physical education space with a stage for student presentations and performances. The C.R. Crawford team started construction in mid-May of 2015 and completed the project in time for the start of the new school year.
